As I’ve mentioned in a message I sent some time ago, we do keep ourselves busy here at WeShow ( http://www.weshow.com ). I believe I have interesting news : we’re launching today our own video-related social network – My WeShow - and at the same time, releasing WeShow China.
My WeShow is a video-related social network that allows users to build their own video communities using videos from more than 100 online video sites worldwide. There we also offer an exclusive video search system that brings both results from Truveo and from WeShow’s human-powered editorialized selection . On top of that, we’ll be practicing a revenue sharing program with our users ruled by a 50/50 sharing rate - we believe My WeShow will have distributed $10 million among users by the year 2012. My WeShow can be an actual extra income source for many of our users.
China will be the 8th country we’ll provide dedicated services to, adding up to the US, UK, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France and Japan WeShow portals . For each portal, in order to meet local culture and interests, WeShow teams locate relevant content, rewrite video titles and descriptions, re-labeling and tagging them in different languages - and organize them in a comprehensive channel system.
WeShow is head-quartered in New York and backed by funding from The Pilot Group (owned and managed by Bob Pittman, founder of MTV and ex-COO of AOL Time Warner) and other investors.
