An Interview With Virb.com

We were so impressed with Virb, we wanted to ask them more about their ideas and where we can expect Virb to head in future….

Q1. What’s the philosophy behind Virb?

A: Virb is a community website that combines social interaction with music and entertainment exploration. It’s a great way to keep in touch and meet people with similar interests. Virb can be used to discover music, videos, cool companies and organizations… then share what you find with your friends. It is basically our version of social networking done right. We also believe the artists/individuals on a social network should be allowed to present their “art”, or personality for that matter, in the way that individual or artist sees fit. That said, we provide a platform and or profile that can be designed from scratch (helps if you know CSS or basic HTML) and the individual can present said art or personality with no restrictions. If you aren’t a design wizard we have a great default profile that enhances the profile with simplicity in mind. We have also created www.virblayouts.com <http://www.virblayouts.com> for those that want to throw up a quick profile in a tasteful manner. For a stated overview of our company please refer to http://www.virbinc.com/

Q2. It’s a crowded world within the Social Networks environment - what does virb.com bring that others don’t?

A: As I mentioned, Virb offers unlimited profile customization or fantastic default profile designs. The framework of the site is very intuitive and the user experience is unencumbered by clutter or a rigid design ego. The “remove customization” feature, in particular, is a favorite of mine. We also hope to be a destination for compelling and unique content. We already have a steady flow of interesting content but we expect it to really take off once artists of all genres/mediums uncover the unrestricted nature of our profile customization. Ironically enough, we have a more comprehensive explanation at http://www.virb.com/is

Q3. Are there any plans to enable artistes to sell direct?

A: Eventually, we would like to enable artists to sell to their audience. A solution that serves the artist’s best interests has still yet to be found.

A: Please refer to our Terms of Service at http://www.virb.com/terms and Privacy Policy at http://www.virb.com/privacy

Q5. What can we expect to see in the future?

A: Moving forward we expect the Virb Blog to be a highly effective tool to communicate with our users about future features and getting the most out of existing features. More and more companies are shifting to a more transparent operation where the users are privy to any ongoing development and the company’s lifestyle and personality. The Virb Blog should serve as a great, open dialogue with our audience; a dialogue will hopefully create a more passionate user and create the intimate relationship we wish to have with all of users.
