See Things Differently
It is increasingly more important to consider how your audience are accessing the Internet. Whilst the cost of a PC has dropped dramatically, the new games consoles such as Wii, XBox and PS3 (assuming it’s price will drop!) are cheaper and all connect to the internet. In addition, the core teenage music market, who may be prevented from accessing the internet on their parent’s home computer, will begin using the console to download music since the machines have hard drives. As this article demonstrates, most Web 2.0 sites, such as MySpace, Last.fm and Bebo, work fine (mostly!), except they can not use Flash v8.0. Website programmers should therefore consider whether to use the new version of Flash if they’re aiming for the teenage market and expect their website to be accessed via a games console.
