Customising MySpace

There are some amazing MySpace pages available but how do you customise your page to do exactly what you want? Well, it ain’t easy. You need to have a good knowledge of code such as CSS (cascading style sheets), nested tables and hex colour values – If none of this makes sense you’re not alone. Read this for an idea of how difficult CSS is to understand.

There are websites to help you which we list below, but bear in mind, MySpace has a golden rules which is don’t mess with their ad banners – if you do your profile could be deleted.

One suggestion is to create a dummy profile – one that you set up and use to test new designs and layouts. Another is to employ one of the specialist agencies springing up.

Once you have your layout adding widgets is fairly easy. The provider will typically provide you with the code you need to copy and paste into your profile. Some of the more advanced (like Snapvine) will even do it for you if you type in your username and password.
