See Things Differently
So, three weeks ago we wrote about PureVolume, the music social network that blows MySpace out of the water. Then we featured Imeem, which improved upon PureVolume. And, this week, we bring you Virb.com – a site to rival Imeem and written by, you guessed it, the guys who own PureVolume. Confused? Don’t be…
Virb.com is building on the new social network philosophy of allowing you to keep all your media in one place, so no need to open seperate accounts with Flickr, MySpace, YouTube etc. Then it overlays a social network environment, which enables you to add friends with similar likes and preferences. Then to top things off, it overlay a tracker, similar to Last.fm, only this time it’s called VirbTunes, which plugs into iTunes and monitors everything you play, providing further networking opportunities.
Artistes and managers need to quickly secure their artiste names. Million have secured www.virb.com/jamiroquai, and you can see their profile being built. There are already hundreds of artistes signed up, and companies like Band Spaces are offering to pimp profiles.
