See Things Differently
Podcasting is very popular, with reportedly huge numbers of podcasts created and downloaded each week. The impact of these shows is not immediately apparent since, we suspect, there is a delay between the listener downloading and then taking action, which makes the impact difficult to track.
To host your podcast you need a server and a bit of experience in XML. Switchpod make things a little easier by offering free webspace and a handy upload facility. They also promote on other music sites, provide RSS feeds and offer a paid, ad-free service for as little as $3 p/m.
The site itself is easy to navigate although we found the search facility is very poor, there is little quality control and no user reviews, simply the author’s description of the podcast and a voting facility. However, if you’re looking for a cheap and easy solution to host your broadcast submissions to the world, then it’s a site worth checking.
