picture-9It seems everyone is talking about Spotify, founded by a Swedish entrepreneur. The good news is we have talked to Spotify and can offer advertising on their network. Since this is currently the most talked about service in the industry, it represents a very clear opportunity to build immediate profile within the business. As any regular listener will testify, the Government Energy Ad is starting to get a little repetitive now….

The service itself is ace and has been played in our office for the last two weeks. Want to hear the new single by Master Shortie? It’s there. Want to hear a classic Jamiroquai album? Just fire it up. Want to hear how incredibly bad The Killers album is before you waste your money on it? Thankfully, now you can…

The service is fully licensed and pays labels and artists a share of advertising and subscription revenue. Given the CPM’s this will not amount to much per play but I feel is representative of the new ‘Free To Consumer’ model which is going to be a prevalent future model.

So, in summary, We Heart Spotify. And if you want to get anything heard by the entire music industry in a very short space of time, come ask us about our advertising packages.
