Lilith Fair Use Facebook So Fans Choose Local Charity


Lilith Fair is famous in the States as a traveling festival which promotes women in music. It was founded by Sarah McLachlan and features a 100% all-female line-up. Like many festivals, charity is important and so it donates $1 from every ticket sale to a local charity and engages with fans by allowing them to select which local charity receives the donation. In a similar way to my local Waitrose, it presents people with a list of local charities and then puts it to a democratic vote. However, unlike my supermarket, Lilith Fair have used an Involver Facebook App to operate the vote via Facebook, and in addition to funding a local worthy cause, also encourage Facebook Fan sign-ups (57,234 fans at the last count). Nice.
