The Great Escape Introduce Street Gigs and Milkshakes


The Great Escape, a city festival held in Brighton, has introdcued the idea of ‘secret street gigs’. The idea is bands play ‘impromptu’ sets somewhere in the city and you get notified where they are via mobile phone if you sign up. Bands such as Babyshambles, The Noisettes and We Are Scientists have appeared in the past which makes it a very tempting offer. It’s sponsored by Relentless Energy Drinks and costs £1.50 to register your phone, after which texts are free. We think it’s a strong concept which adds a sense of excitement and buzz, plus is a good sponsorship opportunity.

In another creative idea, The Great Escape now have their own milkshake. Created by Shake Away it consists of Skittles, Popping Candy and Jelly Babies, which should keep you going for most of the night. The restaurant also sells tickets to the event.
