Every Social Share Is Worth $12 To A Music Promoter

Eventbrite recently released some results which show that every social share made by someone who bought a music event ticket is worth an incredible $12!

For their full analysis and detail of how they measured the value of each share, read their blog. I have previously presented their findings at presentations I did at MIDEM, and in Canada and Austria.

We have said for some time that music events and festivals are social events and, since people’s enjoyment is usually boosted by how many of their friends also go, they’re motivated to try and get as many mates as possible to join them attending. Promoters should incentivise people through offering ‘Share’ discounts or Group tickets.

I’ve lifted Eventbrite’s graph which illustrates how much a share is worth for a music promoter trying to sell tickets.
